What it includes
- Instrument-assisted soft tissue work. A smooth-edged tool moved along the muscle.
- Trigger point and myofascial release. Steady pressure on specific tight spots in a muscle.
- Assisted stretching. Ismail moves and holds the stretch with you, so you can relax into it.
- Gentle mobilisation. Slow, controlled movement of a joint through its range.
What it feels like
Firm but manageable pressure. Ismail checks how it feels as he goes and adjusts the pressure to suit you. Some people feel a little tender for a day or two afterwards.
Where it fits in your care
Ismail often combines soft tissue work with chiropractic adjustments, dry cupping or taping, and exercises you can do at home between visits.
Is it right for you?
At your first home visit Ismail asks about your health and history and carries out a thorough assessment before suggesting any treatment. He explains what he would like to do and why, and only goes ahead with your consent. If a technique isn't suitable for you, he'll say so and suggest another option, or recommend you see your GP.
